BookBlogWriMo Day 17, 18, 19, and 20

The answer to this prompt is definitely one that keeps cropping up throughout this month’s posts: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I was moved beyond anything as a fifth grader reading this book. I wanted nothing more than to become a writer at that point in my life, but I didn’t know if I could do it. My mother passed this book on to me, knowing I needed something beyond the lower reading level books I was getting in school at the time. I needed something to make me think, to inspire me. S.E. Hinton was not much older than I was when she wrote The Outsiders. Not only that, but the book put me into a book coma for a long time after, I’m still not sure I have woken up from it.

To be honest, my book event goal is to finally get to a book event. I’ve been a book blogger for three years now, and I still haven’t been to a book event. Unless you count the Facebook ones, but I’ve even hosted those, so they’re nothing new.

Other than simply getting to one, I really want to go to Utopia. One of the books I edited for Michele was actually nominated for Best Editing at this particular book event (Into The Fire – a great read! I highly suggest it.)

Some of my favorite adaptations from book to movie are:

I tend to have some pretty significant emotional reactions to books. Some of the books that have made me cry are:

A: An Announcement or Two

A

I am participating in the A To Z Challenge again this year. I did this last year when I was first taking off with my blog, so what better way to get back into the swing of things than to hop on board the alphabet train again? Today’s letter is A! So I have a few announcements to kick this all off.im back doctor

Get back into the swing of things? Well, some of you may have noticed that I went from posting all the time to suddenly being very MIA since the new year started… Well… I’ve got a really good reason… Baby Announcement

Luckily, I’m getting back into the swing of things. My energy is coming back and I’m reading again. (I know! It was so strange going so long without really reading a book for pleasure.)

96d90-into2bthe2bfire_final_highI also finished editing another book for Michele G. Miller: Into The Fire. It is so freakin’ good. I swear. Her books just keep getting better! Best yet, it released this weekend, so you can get a copy of your own!! I will post a review in the next couple of days, but definitely head over to Amazon, B&N, or anywhere else you can get awesome books and pick this one up. You won’t regret it!! At fifteen, an accident turned my world upside down. Scarred in every way possible, I shut down, finding comfort by self-inflicting pain.
I’ve grown accustomed to the truths of my life, but I’m tired.
Tired of this reality…
Tired of the need…
Of the pain…
I’m weary of being this person…
Of being alone…
Though, I’m more afraid of letting someone in.
It’s been five years.
Can I return home and face my fears? Overcome the pain?
It’s time to find out.
For too long, the story of my life has been one of horror.
I want my fairy tale.
I want my prince, my happily ever after.
The question is, does it want me?
*This is a standalone novel following a character introduced in the From The Wreckage series. It is not necessary to read that series to enjoy this story.*

Michele writes novels with fairytale love for everyday life. Romance is always central to her plots where the genres range from Coming of Age Fantasy and Drama to New Adult Romantic Suspense.
Having grown up in both the cold, quiet town of Topsham, Maine and the steamy, southern hospitality of
Mobile, Alabama, Michele is something of an enigma. She is an avid Yankees fan, loves New England, being outdoors and misses snow. However she thinks southern boys are hotter, Alabama football is the only REAL football out there and sweet tea is the best thing this side of heaven and her children’s laughter!
Her family, an amazing husband and three awesome kids, have planted their roots in the middle of Michele’s two childhood homes in Charlotte, North Carolina.
